A little about me
I’ve been a creator and a creative all my life.
In 1995, I co-created the world’s first episodic website. I was also one of the writers and the face of the project. The Spot got an embarrassing amount of attention and launched my career at a very young age. When I worked in advertising as a copywriter, I helped take what was supposed to be a project to sell more Luna bars to become a manifesto on women’s empowerment. That single campaign, widely covered by national media, gained 44 million impressions and a YouTube subscription base that grew by 110%.
Today, I'm a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and graduate of the Co-Active Training Institute (formerly CTI), one of the preeminent coaching organizations in the world. I literally created the Creative Block, a tool that artists, entrepreneurs and even students use to get out their own way. What most people don’t know about me is that much of my creativity comes from a deep down sense I’ve had since being a child of never feeling like I’m enough. I'm writing the book about that one now.
I’ve got three gifts that I bring to my clients.
- I’m an ideas person who follows through. So many people have great ideas. Far fewer know how to do what it takes to make that vision come to life. I understand the complexities and challenges of the creative process AND the follow through process. I’ve learned that it’s rare for a single person to possess those skills and qualities and I’m grateful to have a firm grasp on both, and love helping my clients get to the finish line on their projects.
- I have brainstorming superpowers. I help people generate ideas, and then I help them articulate what to say and how to say it. Language is a sixth sense for me. I understand how people think and know how to speak their particular language in a way that feels direct and personal.
- I’m calm under pressure. Sometimes even playful. Because I can see the bigger picture for my clients, I’m a grounding influence in high stakes situations.
My clients are super creative, but they can be unfocused and disorganized. My clients often have a mastery of language, but can get lost when sometimes the words become more important than what they actually represent. And while my clients can also be playful under pressure, it means they sometimes don’t go as deep as they could.
Here’s a counterintuitive truth about creativity: Most people think that creativity is complicated. The truth is that quantity begets quality. If you do the work, the results will come.
I challenge my clients. I hold their hands. I brainstorm with them, and help them create powerful language for what they are producing next. And then they make a big impact – in their own lives and in the world.
If you have creativity bursting out of you, get overwhelmed in the crazy mess, the language gets mixed up and you don’t go as deep as you could, I’m the person you need by your side. Call me.
